About Imperial Farms
USDA-Certified HalalZabihah-Halal Certified (HMS Host)
Family-Run
It all began in 2021 with a simple dream — to create a farm where
honest, hand-slaughtered halal meat could thrive in harmony with nature.
Nestled in the heart of Virginia, we’re one of the few
USDA-Certified Halal Farms in the state, with weekly inspections that keep our standards
as high as our hopes.
Our story is rooted in the values and traditions our family brought from
Afghanistan in the 1980s — faith, hard work, and hospitality. From the moment guests arrive,
we want them to feel the same warmth you’d find at our family table: friendly smiles, laughter,
and the smell of something delicious sizzling nearby.
Today, Imperial Farms is more than a place to buy meat — it’s a destination.
Families visit to meet our animals, sip chai at the Chai Khana, and breathe in the calm of open fields.
Every visit tells a story of community, faith, and care.

Why Halal Meat?
Simply put, because the Creator of these animals says so — and within that command are mercy, purity, and blessing.
Zabihah Halal vs. “Halal”
- Each animal is healthy, calm, and treated humanely.
- “Bismillah, Allahu Akbar” pronounced for every animal.
- Performed by a qualified Muslim slaughterer (dhabīḥa practitioner).
- Sharp knife; swift cut; complete blood drainage (6:145 guidance).
- 100% hand-slaughtered — no mechanical blades.
- May use mechanical systems processing at high speed.
- Invocation sometimes said once per batch, not per animal.
- Oversight varies; compliance may be inconsistent.
- Animal welfare practices may not meet Prophetic ethics.
